Positive thinking
“What we think will become”
We have all been there, Monday morning comes and we think “oh no, it’s going to be a long, hard, boring day”. And as a matter of a fact it turns out to be just that, long, hard and boring.
On the other hand, remember those days when you wake up and receive a message from a loved one in the morning and you feel happy and excited about the day ahead? Your day then goes by with no upset, you’re happy, even though you are doing the same amount of hard work. Is this just a coincidence or can YOU, by the power of your mind, influence the outcome of your day?
We are a great believer in the thought that everything has a positive side and what you think on a regular basis will come true (keeping realistic, that is).
How your brain works (in simple terms):
There is a filter in your head that picks up all the information you receive, day in, day out. It’s shown that the human brain picks up around 7 million bits of information per second (objects, colours, sounds etc) that is a lot of information to take in.
So, what’s this got to do with your day? Well, everything. If you think positive, the filter in your head will filter through all the 7 million bits of information to pick out all the positive bits, and lead you in that direction.
The same goes for negative thinking, if you think negative thoughts in the morning then the filter will pick out all the negative bits of information in your day.
Positive thinking is a great thought process to apply to everyday situations including your fitness. Thinking positively about going to the gym all day will turn it into a much more positive experience and you are much less likely to skip a session. Use positive thoughts to get you in the right frame of mind and see yourself train harder and more regularly for even greater results.
“It’s going to be a great workout”
“I’m going to feel great afterwards”,
“I’m pushing until I complete 5k today!”
